Gameschool Friday: Azul

Game Overview

Today’s Game Recommendation – Azul by NextMove

Category: Puzzle strategy

You might enjoy this game if you enjoy sequence, Rummikub, or Qwirkle.

Ages – Child (out of choking hazard range) to adult
If your child is able to understand pattern-making and multi-step directions, they will be able to play this game with appropriate support.

Mr. D, age 5, loves this game and frequently beats my butt. Hubby and I will also pull out this favorite for a quick round. It’s just as fun with 2 players as with 5, and turns are very quick so there isn’t a lot of lag time. I highly suggest watching a YouTube tutorial play through before your first game. It’s not complicated, but the rules are easier seen in action.

Update: We have since purchased and played Azul – Summer Pavilion, and it is even better than the original.
